To assist the National Education Association in fulfilling the current resolution on American Indian Education.

To pursue federal [United States of America] legislation that will ensure educational self determination through parental, tribal, or community control.

To effectively differentiate for the National Education Association between Indian Education and Education of Indians.

To ensure the concepts of Indian Education are include when the term multicultural education is used.

To pursue through federal legislation the state certification of American Indian/Alaska Native resource people who are teaching in the public education system.

To pursue federal legislation that will ensure financial soundness for all forms of Indian Education, including alternative and tribally controlled schools.
